So i have a 99 camaro ss.Last year before i put it away 4 storage I was messing around at a stop light and when i took off my tires spun and i bumped the rev limiter.not long after my check engine light came on and it was running ruff so i put it away 4 the winter. well before i took it out this year I ran a diagnostic on it and it was a cylinder 8 misfire. So of course i did all the easy stuff first spark plugs,wires,coil pack,and fuel injectors but none of it helped so i bit the bullet and took my valve covers off to see if i had a bent pushrod. So i took the rocker off in cylinder 8 and reached back to grab out the pushrod and it wasnt there! It had exploded and left a golf ball size hole in my head! The crazy part is that other than running a little ruff I drove the car 20 miles to my buddies house with a expoded pushrod and a head with a huge hole in it!That just goes to show u these ls1 engines take a lickin and keep on tickin.Needless to say i need to pull the motor and try to find all the metal shards before heads cam and maybe even a new block go back in. If u have ever seen or heard about this let me know what I need to do to get this baby running again!

I broke number 8 valve spring in my 99 TA once scared the shit out of me but I got lucky just a spring no other damage. I've heard of bent and broken but never exploding good luck man.
