I would start with suspension, no use having all that power and not putting it to the ground. Subframe connectors and lower control arms are a great start, you can also go on to shocks, springs, panhard bar, torque arm, the list goes on. Once you have a good foundation then start going further into performance mods.
More than likely the original fuel pump is tired out by now so before you get far into engine work I recommend a replacement. I always recommend racetronix, their kit with the writing harness is a real nice package. Not sure what is done to your car but the basics start at an air lid, an exhaust system, headers (lots of threads about headers just a search away), then you can get into engine work. You can look for a set of used ls6 or ls2 heads for a good price or buy new ones already ported, just depends how much you feel like spending. 5.3 heads are also a good choice if you want to save some cash, they are found fairly cheap but require some milling and a good valve job to make them worth while. Then it comes down to cams, which require better valve springs, pushrods, possibly rockers or comps rocker arm upgrade. There are plenty of threads on this that can help you decide. Doesn't end there, if you want it to stay together a new oil pump, timing chain, lifters (pretty much a given), all very common. last of all you need to find a reputable shop with a dyno that can properly tune your car once it's done. All this together with the right setup will put you around your 450 goal but remember this is just a number, some cams will net you less power but more power under the curve.

    This is my .02
You could just slap some nitrous on it but wheres the fun in that
    Hope this helps

G'day and welcome. In addition to what Alex stated, don't expect the stock 10 bolt rear to handle that kind of power either. Expect to need a 12 bolt, 9 inch, or dana 60.
It's not how fast you can go. It's how fast you can get there.

Also, not sure if your auto or manual, but with a large cam a stall converter is a must. if yours is a manual, look into clutches.

Good luck with the mods. The LS1 responds very well to bolt ons and internal mods. You should have no trouble reaching your goal with 5k to spend. Welcome.

243s, 799s they are the same
the 243s that came in the zo6 came with lightweight sodium filled valves
The casting itself however is the same
