Noob From Kansas
Greetings from Afghanistan! So I am nearing the end of a deployment over here and have been a good boy by saving my pennies to buy a new "toy" when I get back home (stationed at Riley). Right now I'm really wanting a 98-02 WS6 which is why I decided to join the forums.
I've had other project cars in the past (mostly 3rd gen Camaros) and have had nothing, but bad luck with them (I would end up with either a problem car, finance problems, or other circumstances would force me to abandon it). So, I've decided to give up on the project car idea and just buy a fun ride that I can throw some goodies on as I go. Plus there is just something about that ram air hood...

Take a look at the link Jeff posted. There is some great info in there on what to look for. Good luck in your search for the perfect WS6.

Thanks everyone! And thanks for that link Jeff. I thought I already knew what to look for when buying a new car, but that link had some really good ideas that I hadn't thought of before. I think I will use it to make a checklist when I start looking at cars.
Regarding that thread, I can relate to the suggestion to see if the window motors work right. On the last 3rd gen that I bought, the passenger side window wouldn't move. I figured not a big deal, I can replace a window motor. After having the car a couple of weeks I got around to replacing it. When I pulled off the door panel, I had quite an unpleasant surprise. The idiot that had the car before me completely mangled the sheet metal surrounding the 3 rivets holding the window motor in place. The only thing holding the window up was a piece of wire wrapped around the window motor and the sheet metal. Guess he wasn't aware that you have to drill or grind out rivets...Last edited by theno1prince; 03-15-2014 at 10:50 PM.

It's amazing what some people will do when they attempt to "fix" their cars.

Totally agree. Some people should not be allowed to own tools.
