Midnight Blue Metallic- 2000 Trans Am WS6 Conv.
Newbie looking for ideas
Hi All, I bought my 2000 Trans Am WS6 Convertible last May. I am starting to do some mods. It is currently bone stock with a SLP box. I am buying new ttm's for it in a couple of weeks but would like some advice on some mods you have done that would give me the most bang for my buck. I want to get headers and exhaust done and some other bolt ons for now. Any advice. I will post pics soon.

Welcome to the site. Subframe connectors will help in many ways. You should start with those. No sense in adding power before bracng the chassis.

Welcome! I agree with the recommendation for SFC's. Not that expensive and easy to do.

Welcome to the site. Bolt-on mods in this order IMO:
-Sub frame connectors (UMI or BMR)
-Lid (SLP, about the only thing from that site worth purchasing..maybe a line lock also)
-Long tube headers (Depends on what coin you have to spend)
-Exhaust (go to www.ls1sounds.com and listen)....Magnaflow is popular.

How much you got to spend and how wild do you want to get? Just send me your credit card and your car will be killing everything in no time!! - Depending on your credit limit that is! lol.
It's not how fast you can go. It's how fast you can get there.

Midnight Blue Metallic- 2000 Trans Am WS6 Conv.
Here is my car
Here is my 2000 Pont WS6 Trans Am. I have the SLP air box now and I am going to order my Torq Thrust M's in a few weeks. I have heard that the stock rear ends should be upgraded too if I go much over 350hp. Has anyone else heard the same thing? http://i947.photobucket.com/albums/a...2000PontTA.jpg

Midnight Blue Metallic- 2000 Trans Am WS6 Conv.
I was thinking about a 12 bolt posi with 4:10 gears. But that will probably be a hibernation project for next winter. Also I have been looking for a thread that I saw a few days ago but can't find it again. A member would run your VIN and get the info on your car. It was not a carfax it was something else. But I can't find the thread again. Can someone post a link to it for me please.

Is it a A4 or M6? If A4, make sure you factor in the price of a stall converter. THATS the bigest bang for your buck on a A4 IMO. If M6, then you want to maybe think about some better pushrods sometime in the future. Thats the weekest point IMO for an M6 car when you start makeing more that 400hp. With any fbody, the drivetrain is where the design is weekest at, but most stay stock untill they either or they finaly have the funds to upgrade the rear and tranny.
Biggest thing is to think about where you want to go with the car.
For fun, just stick to bolt-ons and maybe a stall if its an A4, line lock is fun, tires are good to have, and exhaust for the sound and some performance.
More serious mods will include SFCs, LCAs and TQ arm(easy mods), springs and shocks for ride and if you want to lower, head and cam upgrade, intake manifold upgrade, and the list can go on. It all depends on what you want to do. Each of us can give you an idea of what we like or plan on doing, but it all in your hands. Do what you want and get what makes you happy and enjoy the car more. There is alot of info here, as well as other sites, to help you decide.

My car is an A4. For now I am going to stick with bolt ons. And thank you everyone for the info. I am so glad I found this site. I know I will have more questions in the future.
