    Cool newbie

hello everyone, my name's chris. i drive a 2004 silverado scsb v6 but not for long. i just recently purchased a long block ls1 that's gonna be swapped into the truck. there is alot of work to be done and many more parts to be purchased, but with a little guidance and elbow grease i'm sure it will be fun. has anyone here ever done this before? if so, what all am i going to need?

here are pics of the ride:

FWIW, i just took off the ugly black bump guards on the doors and put on 2" shackles to level it.

welcome to the site the truck looks good. i think all the stuff you will need for it is the v8 stuff from that year and a cpu from a ls1.

Welcome, and good luck with the build. For the major parts, motor and cpu would be the biggest i would think.

What motor, tranny, and rear-end are in the truck currently?

i have the 4.3 v6 with a 4l60e tranny and stock rear end and DS. the trans should stand up to the ls1, but i need another torque converter.i figure that the rear end should hold up, at least for a while, if not... uh oh!
