Newbe
Hay I am Jack new here. Just got my TA about two months ago. I LOVE MY CAR!!!!!!!! I found your link on .highperformancepontiac.com I knew there had to be a form for these cars. I have been a member of the Road star form for about 10 yrs and it has been invaluable. Looking forward to making some new friends and learning from your experience.

Sub frame connectors, sub frame connectors, sub frame connectors, sub frame connectors, sub frame connectors.... (abbreviated as SFC).
While not a "go fast" mod, these cars are a "twist-o-flex" design (have been since 67) and if you're gonna mod then you need to be able to keep it straight.
An annecdote: A buddy bought a 2000 Z28 new and commenced to drag racing it, eventually doing H/C/I, stall and nitrous. High 10's/low 11's. Fast enough to need a cage to be track legal. At 50K miles he decides to add SFC's. I had to fabricate a 1/2" spacer to make the RH side connector fit as the car was twisted that much.
Beyond that KR is correct: A lid (MTI or SLP smooth lid or the like) is the best 1st mod.
FYI: Other than a lid avoid SLP products as they are overpriced. The aftermarket has surpassed anything they make.
Is your car an A4 or M6?
Trust me, we've got lots 'o suggestions on how to "go fast"...

The car is stock with 33,000 miles or so.
WOW I fell like a idiot What is a lid? Cold air intake?? and all the abbreviations are killing me. So when I say new I mean it.

A4 = automatic 4 speed
M6 = manual 6 speed
H/C/I - heads, cam, intake
NANO = Nitrogen Assisted Nitrous Oxide
N2O = Nitrous Oxide
SFC = Sub-frame connectors
RWHP = rear wheel horse power
RWT = rear wheel torque
TD = true dual exhaust
DR = Drag radial tire
A "lid" is the part that covers the air cleaner
SLP and MTI are acronyms for companies that make parts for our cars
There are a bunch more...

We have a vendor, UMI, that makes good quality parts. I'd check there 1st.
Whatever you buy make sure they go all the way back to the rear trailing arm bolt. Some stop short of this. IMHO, weld in is superior to bolt in but there are those who disagree with me.
Also I prefer round tube to square tube and 2 point to 3 point but others disagree. Personal preferrence...
I have a custom weld-in set that a friend who is a metal fabricator fabbed up and welded in place for me. Dude builds monster trucks so I trust his skills.
