Yea, as a matter of fact I wanted to upload some pics of the engine to see if anyone could tell what kind of air intake this thing has... I bought this car at a auction as it was a drug seizure and I don't think it is an OEM air intake. It seems to be missing the Ram Air box from the factory ?? there seems to be a black sheet metal plate running from the top of the radiator to the front grill and a K&N filter mounted on top of it. It does not appear to have any "ducting" from the Ram air hood to the filter, in fact there is a lot of open space between the two?.. I don't know what else has been modified on the car but i would assume that the chip has been changed as it came with a Hypertech programmer, laser radar detector, and a police scanner ? Go figure !! Anyway, I can't figure how to upload a pic on this site ?? Please guys, have tolerance with me as I am pushing senior citizen status and ain't to slick on computers and the like, but I did attend Woodstock !!!! Any info regarding the air intake and some "how too" regarding the pic posting would be greatly appreciated. Also, should I try to restore this car back to original OEM stuff and store it. I had intended to give it to my grandson until I found out how much the insurance would be for a 17 year old. I think I will look for VW bug or van for him now and I guess I'm stuck with the car. My friends think I'm going through my second childhood... well hell..I just hope it's as much fun as the first one was...

I bet it will be as fun as the first! to upload pics you need to get a host try pimpandhost or photobucket upload the pics there then post the image code here and it will show. Im not sure on the intake but if you post pics im sure we can figure it out. Dont mind your age Sarge is everyones Grandpa around here.

You had me at woodstock then fucked it up by saying you were going to give it to some punk 17 year old. When posting pics there is a box that has 4 image codes copy the one on the bottom and that will show the pics on the screen for us to see-that or message me your photobucket account and i'll post up the pics

That intake you have is a k&n intake it works but my personal stupid opinion is I don't like how it isn't sealed up, our cars are programmed they don't have chips hypertech is okay for little things but for major mods get a dyno tune and junk the programmer. Welcome to the sight man.

No, not as much fun. The Toby Kieth line, I'm good once I as ever was, rings true.LOL Also the women didnt have the middle age spread and the car sat higher and made getting under easier. Also women over 40 arent impressed with a 7 year old car. The kid would enjoy it more, sad to say.

Thanks, I'm located near Opelika. I'm having a SES light issue as well as running crappy (missing) (smoking) (except at high RPM) and running what appears to be too rich... Do you know a shop shop I can take this thing too for analysis near me or anywhere else ? You may even have some suggestions regarding my problem referencing my previous posts... Many Thanks

Depending on the smoke it could be your rings are fried, if it has that slp maf get rid of it and put on a stocker. There is a recall on the cats take it to gm and see if they are bad if they are you will get them replaced free but that will end soon so don't skip out on that.

Thanks for the info,,,I will have them cats checked. Right now I'm in Stockton, CA on business but I will take it to the dealer when I return home. I'm pretty sure that the smoke is due to running rich,,, However I've noticed that the left side exhaust has much more flow coming out than the right side.. I think it's the factory exhaust and not true duals ? The left tail pipe smuts up (black) much more and quicker that the right one. It also leaves black smut all over the rear end of the car.. Do you think the factory dealer can help with the SES and SES flashing problem without ripping me a new ass ??
    Thanks again for your advise..
