New to the site
Hey everyone. New to the site. Been a pretty involved member over on tech for the last couple years and just thought I would expand some horizons.

Ouch. Our rep is actually quite good as far as friendliness goes... you'll never be told to "go search" on here when you ask a question.
We do have the site settings tweaked a bit for new members. Helps block the trolls and spammers that haunt the web and trash up the site. Not sure about the sig settings, might need 10 posts and 10 days for that. We have a section for questions: Request and Feedback , or feel free to ask in here if there is anything else you need. You'll have access to PM's after the 10/10 is up and I will gladly respond to anything you send.
On your settings page, you checked the box to "show sig"?

Forgot to mention -- there is also a "Show your signature" box at the bottom left corner of the reply screen. Let me know what happens.

One of the things that got to me the most was forcing me to go digging up my ISP e-mail I have never ever used until now because the site will not accept gmail addresses. That is just nuts. Gmail is a well established provider and I have been using my addresses for over a decade now.

There go, we figure out the sig part. It still would not allow me to post pics linked back to my site however. Don't know why.

I'm sorry to have jumped all over the site's case but it is frustrating.

Wierd. It only shows the sig in that one post.

I believe the site is set to only show the sig in one post per page -- that keeps the pages from getting too long.

As far as pics go, we all copy and paste the [IMG] code from sites like Photobucket, Image Shack and such. You can open a free account at any of those sites and upload the pics from your computer.

I have my own domains that host pics on. So if I can't post from there, that is a problem for me.

You can copy and paste the domain link into your post. I'll be able to click on that to take me to your pics. Will that work?

Odd. I use gmail and have been on this site for 5 years now without one single issue. Did something change, KR?

When we had that influx of spammers a few years ago, I think they were blocked to protect the site.
