new member/exhaust?

what's goin on? i just got a 2000 z28 in june and have wanted to lose the flowmasters for another exhaust thinking either slp loudmouth, borla, or gmmg. let me know what you think! thanks.

That flowmaster is known to not do anything good for performance so you're heading down the right path.

I have run the borla adjustable catback and really liked it. Seemed to be quiet at low rpms but scream up top. If you have neighbors they'll appreciate that. The Slp is extremely raspy and loud and isnt really my cup of tea. Never ran the gmmg though. Its supposed to be top notch stuff.

Its not that I dont like the sound. The sound is actually really good. It is the amount of air that it flows (or doesnt flow in this case) that make you gain very little power from it.

If all you want is performance, SLP LMI or LMII. Just bullet muffler, about as free flowing as you can get.

Not true actually. Flowmasters flow really well if you don't get the 80 series muffler. Their 10 series flows just as well as the borla xr-1 does, since it is basically a bullet muffler. The 80 just gives them a bad rep.

Is that available in a catback or is it just the muffler and you'll have to build most of it yourself? If youre talking mufflers and building everything else yourself then you have alot of different options. The op looks like hes in the hunt for a prebuilt catback judging by what he originally posted.

You just buy their catback that comes with the 80 series and buy a 10 series for I think it was 50-70 dollars for the 10 series. It's not hard to do, especially if yo u just clamp the muffler on versus welding.
