Just joined late last night and here is my first post!
For toys I currently own a 1999 Camaro SS and I am restoring a 1977 Trans Am.
Looking forward to warmer weather! Living in the midwest really sucks in the winter!

Here are a few pics. I'm in the process of dressing up the under hood area:

Nice! If you can, ditch that secondary air system and do the wire hide mod. Goes a long way towards cleaning up the engine bay. You can also tuck the cruise control module behind the PCM.

If I remove the secondary air system will I need to reprogram the PCM? What is the wire hide mod?
-

Correct. You simply reset the secondary air codes so a light is not set. The wire hide mod takes that big wad of wiring over top of the passenger side wheel house and re-routes it underneath. The wiring runs through a 1-3/4" hole drilled in the back of the tower, over top of the plastic wheel well liner, and out through the opening behind the battery. Really cleans up the look:

Wow that looks great! I had the PCM reprogrammed years ago when all of the other mods were done on the car but I don't remember if the AIR codes were disabled or not. I will look into moving that bundle on the passenger side.
Thanks for the help!

I just bought this car in December from a friend of mine who bought the car new in 1999. He had the mods done over a 5 year period. He just bought a BWM M6 and decided (or should I say the wife) that he couldn't keep both. This car has every paper, including all of the receipts for the mods, all of the maintenance receipts, SLP info, and build sheet so all in all I feel fortunate he kept every paper. Car has 32k miles and being from the midwest it has never seen snow, only driven when dry and warm between May and September.
If anyone has any suggestions on anything else I should do with the car just let me know. I am going to start dressing up the underhood a bit per a few suggestions on this thread and a few others.
Speed Inc did all of the work/testing on the car. Here is a list of some of the work they have done, I know it's cookie cutter but it's easier for me to copy and paste:

Not practicle
For one the holes will rust out..
Don't like drilling out chassis hard points..
Don't like how the wires are pulled to the side of the PCM almost kinked.
Don't see the advantage of having to take the wheel off and inner fender well to get to that section of the harness. Only to have to cut off all that tape hidding the connections.. Could also accidently cut into the harness wires..
Nah, I can live with the wires..Last edited by Smittro; 02-04-2011 at 04:12 AM.

That is a sweet ride there, you got a great deal expecially knowing the previous owner and having all the paper work to it. Looks like you got lucky!!

Thanks for the positive feedback and warm welcome!
I picked up the SS in December and had to rent an enclosed car hauler to keep it out of the elements, then drove 500 miles round trip to pick up the car (I moved out of state last year so I was no longer as close to my friend) and went through way to much fuel.
I haven't been able to drive it yet so I'm getting antsy...but I still have to wait until May :-(
The car was at the track one time and was banned after my buddy ran as he didn't have a roll cage. Here were the numbers at the track: ¼ Mile – 10.69 @ 129 mph (60 ft time – 1.63)
I may take it to the track although I'm looking forward in just general cruising around and going to a car show or two.
