Navy Blue Metallic- 2002 Trans Am WS6 NBM
New Member
What's going on everyone. My names Justyn. I just purchased a 2002 Trans Am WS6. It has an SLP cat back exhaust, a performance tune from Diablo Sport and a sweet sound system. The color of the car is Blue, but looks purple at some angles. Does anybody know the name of that color? I am looking for some help on what would be the best mods on this car. My brother in law has a 2003 Mustang GT, (which I beat every time we race), and he said to make lots of upgrades. What do you guys think about keeping the Trans Am stock for future resale? Talk to you guys soon. Thanks for your help.

Welcome to the site! I managed to keep our car stock for almost 6 months... Suspension upgrades are a good starting point. As long as you keep all your stock parts, you can always put it back to factory at a later date.

Welcome to LS1.com!
If you have stock paint, it's called Navy Blue Metallic. Around here, we just call it NBM

Nice
I have wanted this Trans Am for years. Now that i have it, I want to change everything. You think the suspension should be upgraded from the WS6 Performance suspension?

Thanks. I found that color online too. I thought it might have a different name because of it changing colors.

I went all UMI on our car -- nicely built and fits very well. I started with the SFC's and then replaced all my rear suspension pieces. I have not upgraded our springs and shocks yet, so no personal experience there. From everything I have read on here, it seems that Strano springs and Koni shocks are the way to go.

UMI is a company that makes suspension components. They are a site sponsor: UMI Performance
SFC = Subframe Connector

Thanks for the info. I am going to do some research and put a suspension plan together. I thought the stock suspension was supposed to be good. Wasn't that the whole point of the WS6?

Gotcha. Do you know if the suspension is the only difference on the WS6?

There is a thread somewhere on this topic... I'll have to go see if I can find it. We also have a cool emblem on the back and a "WS6" in the RPO codes on the door.

Right, thats what I am saying. I talked to a service guy at the Pontiac dealership. He said the only difference was the suspension. I was a little disappointed.
