Hello, new to the site... Picked up my first LS1 Camaro Sunday... 1 Owner 2001 Z28 with 32.421 miles ... Bone Stock, even has the original tires and muffler... What to do? Leave it stock or minor bolt ons? Any tips or tricks would be helpful... Thanks in advance...

Welcome to the site. Living in California you will have some restrictions on what you can do to stay smog legal. Some people from Cali will chime in.

Alright man How much you looking to spend? If its bone stock get a full exhaust 3 or 4" main piping. What i mean by full is ,headers, down pipe, cat back. Full intake mods, starting with the intake manafold, the Throttle body the MAF and a high flow air liter. o and a tune and you will feel how much better it will run. Also if you realy want to get the most out of it add a bigger cam make sure you do all this at once so you dont have to re tune it everytime.

That would be great and all....but you cannot get LT headers in California. That is unless you plan on taking them off every 2 years and putting back on OEM manifolds for emissions.
Also, don't think you can put a cam in either in Cali.
His car is a 2001 so he already has the LS6 intake, which is plenty sufficient unless he goes with a Cam and Heads, which again, don't think that is possible.
Lastly, the OP doesn't want to touch his MAF. Leave it stock.

You can run a TR224 and pass the sniffer test. Can't relocate the cats though. The exhaust manifolds on 2001/2 are almost as good as the mid-length's that are legal so I wouldn't bother. Cat back with cutouts will do wonders for the sound and performance.
Are you M6 or A4? If A4 what rear gears? A stall converter and requisite mods to the tranny along with gears are legal and will really wake up an A4 car.
I asked about Cali as I'm orginally from LA and I could've recommended you to a local (to LA) car club. I live in PHX now.

Yeah, like Jim states, if you're an A4 and it's legal, stall will be your absolute best mod for the money.

Welcome to LS1.com!
And, yeah... there is not a whole lot you can do as far as emissions go around here in CA. Cat backs would be a good place to start. A lid and as mentioned, if you have an A4, a stall. Gears and a mild cam is OK.

Welcome to the site. I know what I would do if I lived in Calif. , move to another state ,put the mods on the car, and drive it like you stole it!
