New to the LS1 game

Hello, I would like to say YES I am a ls1 addict. This is my first time addiction to ls1's. So with that out of the way I just bought a engine/t-56 out of a 04 GTO

This will be going into my new project a 98 BMW 540i. The bmw had a stk. v8/6speed in it,but was having a few issues like the bmw's like to have. But I went with the bmw because I needed a 4 door car. I have 2yr.old twins to haul around. I have mounts,headers,shifter already for the car. Just installed new cam, have timing set, valve cover gaskets,h2o pump, valve springs, also to install. Well I'll be surfing around here for awhile learning the ls1 stuff. thks Chad

Very cool man!

You will dig the better gearing in the GTO tranny vs. the F-body (if you have ever driven one). The 6th gear is only a .57 vs a .50 so gas mileage may not be as good but I dont think you much care about that.

The GTO tranny has the gearing of the C5 Z06.

Thks did'nt know the difference. Car has a 3.15 gear for now,but will go with a 3.46 once it's up and running. Car also weighs 3800lbs. It's going to be my daily driver.
