Hey guys and gals, my anme is Kermit, Im new to the site from Dayton Ohio. I dont have an LS car but lookin to do an LS swap in an 89 Mustang GT, i know you guys probably think it sucks but i gotta go where the cheap power is, just lookin to learn. get the ls1 to stang swap guys in here on a fairly regular basis. I think you'll be surprised at how cool most of us think it is.......the LS1 in the light weight stang body is definitely a potent combo.

I don't know who gave you those figures but my Camaro weighs in at 3400 lbs. from the factory will all the options. Your 89 Mustang GT weighs 3160 lbs. so we are 240 lbs. apart. with an all aluminum LS1 V-8 you will save about 200 lbs. so it is a push. Dump the Stang and get a real muscle car. Also, take a refresher course in math.

No, the Mustang weighs 2850 or at least thats what the scales said at the street car shootout, your car ever been on a scale? Did'nt think so. If I was going to buy an f-body it would be a Trans Am not a Camaro. Oh, as far as a REAL MUSCLE car, check out my avatar, that GTO convertible is an original 4-speed, standard steering, standard brakes and original 3.90 posi car, no options, built to go. Wonder if Ford made more Mustangs or if chevrolet made more camaro's.....hmmmmm.

Your Ratstang GT weighs 3160 from the factory. period. If you stripped it out to weigh 2850 that is a different story. Go look it up for yourself. As far as my car going on a scale, I go by the factory rating which is 3400 lbs. I do not care who made more cars, the Camaro is a much better built car then the fox body Ratstangs with 225 hp. Hell, my Honda has more hp then your 225 hp GT. Hey, go race a Toyota corolla, that is about your speed.

I have to butt in on this. Who cares what the guy wants to drive and what engine he drops in it. His car, his options. Not a good way to welcome someone to this site. Maybe yall should meet up and race. Then winner can talk as much shit as possible. If yall are to far away to race, then just let it go. He wants info for his setup. Not someone talking about his ride.
Suspension: Lower control arms (Spohn), Drive shaft safety loop, Torque arm (Edlebrock), Strut tower brace, Panhard Bar (BMR)

Under the Hood: Smooth bellows, Lid, Catch can, LT Headers, ORY, AIR/EGR delete, Poly engine/transmission mounts,

Exterior: Painted brake calipers (Red), Halo “Spyder” Headlights w/matching parking/turn signals (Black)

I would love to race any Mustang as long as it has the same mods and HP as mine. I can go up to 250 miles to meet this guy for a friendly race. The offer is on the table.
