New guy from tucson!
I have been in and out of this site for some things but never as a member. I figure after my 6th camaro and my 2 nd ls1 i might as well sign on. I just bought this 99 ss camaro for 6500. Everything is solid the engine was redone by a machine shop with forged pistons and rods around 10k miles ago. Its got ported and polished heads, a slp air box and a smooth below for the connection, engine also has a moderate cam unfortunately i have no idea what the real grind is. A4 trans with some machine work to the valve body, new clutches, vette servos, 2200 stall and a beast sunshell. Also has an eaton posi and 4.10 rear gears some tubular suspension components and lowering springs. So the issues here is it needs a tune still but i am lost on the cam, i need to upgrade the intake and quite down the exhaust since its running long tubes and glass packs my neighbors hate me lol. The drilled and slotted rotors are also cracked around the holes so i was forced to let it sit until i get replacements. Glad to be a part of the forums ill jump right into some new threads with my questions.

Sounds like a good deal. You are gonna have to pull the cam to find out what it is. If you are gonna do that, may as well put in what YOU want.

Yeah thats what i figured i might end up doing. The guy i got it from said he got the biggest street legal cam he could find which is the wrong way to pick a cam. I know the heads are ported polished and milled but i dont know what kind of compression im getting. Plus with the original ls1 intake i doubt a big cam is really making any difference with the crappy air flow. Ill have to see if i can find an ls6 intake and get some recommendations

Sharp car! Welcome to the site. We'll be out your way in late April for several days -- looking forward to the southwest scenery and warmth.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Right now im having to build a ramp for my driveway so i can pull in without ripping up concrete lol. The way they mounted these glass packs its rough on speed bumps and stuff. Luckily the 1500 dollars worth of audio equipment i got offsets the noise inside the car.

I had my eyes open for a t/a aswell but its hard finding them in my price range. This buy came down and it was the right place at the right time kind of deal. Hopefully ill be able to add a t/a to the garage before i hit my 10th camaro lol.
