Black- 99 WS.6 - Modified
G'day. Welcome to the site. L/Ts along with a good exhaust can make a good difference - gets that engine breathing. You'll notice a difference in torque and hp. What else you thinkin about doing?
It's not how fast you can go. It's how fast you can get there.

Welcome to the site! Upgrading the exhaust on ours right now but it'll be atleast several more weeks before we can drive it. Might want to consider a set of subframe connectors as a good initial upgrade.

I'm in butler about 100 miles north of mobile. I didn't list it but it has an SLP Loudmouth exhaust but still has the converters on it, the 3:42's have got to go I'm thinking 4:10's or 4:56's what do you guys think? which route do I need to go on the air system? On the LTS how much trouble are they to get on,Do they have to come up from the bottom?

welcome. the long tube headers will take at least half a day to install with a lift and a experienced mechanic and they do install from the bottom, the driver side is a bit of a bitch because there is a piece of the engine block that gets in the way,but my ws6 is a auto and we took the transmission loose at the tailshaft and lifted it all the way it would go and the driver side header slid right in.glad to have another Alabama citizen here. i live between almost halfway montgomery and greenville.

^^ Agreed. I clearanced my K-member just a bit with a grinder to get the driver side header in place. The passenger side went right in without a problem.

we thought about grinding the piece off the block, the instructions that came with my pacesetter headers said to loosed the driver side motor mount and lift the engine for clearance, but we found that lifting the transmission up by the tailshaft was the easiest way to get the header in.figuring out how to get the header in was the hardest part of the install though everthing else kinda just fell in place, smoothest install i have ever done, just lucky that day.lol

At first, I tried lifting the motor a bit with my transmission jack as the mounts do have a bit of give in them. This almost did it -- but that nub on the block still kept it from sliding in place. I bet I did not takle much more than 1/16" off the lip of the K-member to get it in.

i wonder what the hell the purpose of the little nub was/is?
