Welcome to the site! One of our members just completed an LS swap into his third gen -- beautifully done. I'll go find the thread and post a link for you.

Here it is: http://www.ls1.com/forums/f124/1989-...q4-t56-162098/ Lots of pics as I recall. The car just won an award at GM Carlisle last month too.

Silver & Blue- 02 Camaro SS, 04 GTO
Hey Mike, Welcome to the site. LSx engines are out there and for a decent price. Just remember to get all of the wiring and computers.
My ride is a 2002 Camaro SS SLP #3296 with 30k, LTH, 3" Y, CME, Frost tune, K&N, ported TB, Blackwing lid, Bellows, MSD, Denso Iridium, and 85mm MAF, Bilsteins, Eibach springs, SLP strut brace, Adj. Panhard, TA Girdle, UMI, Pro 5.0, Nitto NT555
My wife has a 2004 GTO with the rare SAP, 18" wheels, K&N Cold Air System, MSD, Ported TB, Frost tune, Denso Iridium, Flowmaster cat-back, 3200 Yank, 75k

Yep 500 HP would do it. With the third gen being about 200 lbs. lighter than the 4th gen and 500+ lbs. lighter than the 5th gen that would be quite fun. Although the 3rd gen is quite archaic by comparison to the 4th and 5th gens I still like the 3rd gen looks better. The 6.0 would be great but I like the high tech look and weight of an all-aluminum engine. I have always had an automatic transmission but a T-56 would be fun too. I’d like to find a totaled 2000-2002 f-body.
