Hi guys;

New to this site, but not camaros. Had to sell my 67-68-69 to make ends meet a year ago, and just picked up a 02 Z28/6spd for $5500 to try and take care of the hp withdrawls.

My 67 was a triple threat car running 9's at the 1/4 and also doing a very good job at the road course. The 68 was my wifes convertible with just a zz4 running right at the allowed 13.5 and my 69 was...well with $75,000 into it and selling for under $40,000. It was nice. 550hp fuel injected 406. They are gone now so...

My son who is in the service wanted to do a project with me and we (me) decided to go with an ls1 car rather than his choice- an iroc. I am familiar with what it took to get the 1st gens to 11.5 and push the porsches at the road course, but not so much with this 02 version.

We are on a budget (unlike when construction biz was good) and want to get it to at least the 11.5 mark at the 1/4 mile and very competitive in the small bore group on the road course. I'd like some ideas on how to get there cheaply. I've heard the ls1 responds well to LT headers and dual exhaust, along with some gears a cam and a good dyno tune. I don't mind using a small shot (50-75) of spray if needed at the 1/4, but would like to get to 450hp n/a.

I could use some suggestions on what has been used and what works, (suspension/engine) along with what to avoid. Thanks for the input. Sorry about the novel.
