    New to F-bodies

Hi everyone. I have been a B-body owner since '03. After driving a friend's '00 Camaro SS, I am now looking for an LS1 F-body. I found a 6 speed (no traction control) '00 Camaro SS with SLP loudmouth exhaust with 68k on the clock. I haven't driven stick daily since '03 when I had a Honda 5-speed with about a quarter of the power. I don't do any highway driving on my daily commute; it's mostly suburban with some traffic lights thrown in. How are these cars as daily drivers? How are the 6 speeds without traction control in the rain?

Well until i broke my car screwing around, I was commuting daily 100 mile round trip to school everyday '98 Camaro M6 with a cam, and i was still getting at least 15-16 mpg and in rain mine didnt have any extra problems that you wouldnt see with any other car, and my traction control doesnt work, the car drove perfect in the rain, and when you wanted to you can do some extra controled driving if you like to mess around at times hopefully this helped

Any advice helps. I would be going from a 14-16 mpg 260 hp LT1 that sometimes gives some wheel slip from a stop in the rain.

15 to 16 that's crazy. I'm cammed with full supporting mods not to mention I've got Long tubes ORY and straight pipe, and I still pull 28 MPG on the highway. I don't have Traction control either and as long as your smart and don't mess around you shouldn't have any problems in the rain.

They are asking 15k for it at a dealer (with 1 year warranty). It seems selling prices are way higher than any of the book values (KBB, NADA, edmunds TMV).

I want a 3 year 36,000 warranty. If I could get that for $15,000 would that be a good deal? There aren't many around the area and others seem to be around that price. It has the Loudmouth dual tip and SLP airbox installed.

    Negotiating a price...

They offered $15,500 with a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty today. Not sure if this is a good value for the money. I know the M6 is going to be really fun in the spring and summer on the twisty roads near me, but I'm still sort of concerned with wet traction. I am pretty careful with the throttle in wet weather, but still get some spin from a standing start on the Impala SS (with Riken Raptors - I know, a hard tire). I don't drive in the snow unless there are plenty of plows and salt to go around. I still need to see what I can get on the trade. Any more thoughts? I appreciate all your advice.

EDIT: They went down to $14,470 with 3 year unlimited warranty because it's the end of the month. Should I do it?!
