New 98' T/A from southeastern Ohio...
Hello everyone i guess i'm one of the new men on campus.... i have a 98' trans am with many adds and mods... i just bought the car a week ago from Cinci... and i live in Pomeroy Oh, which is just south of athens.... so here's whats been done to her... It has Eibach lowering springs. This TA also has some Hotchkis performance parts including subframe connectors, control & torque arms, Pan rod etc. I currently have a set of Chrome C5 17s/18s Vette rims wrapped with good treaded 245 tires on this car right now. This car has a few "tasteful performance mods". It has a Superchip, K&N Ram Air cold air kit, 85MM Mass air sensor, 80MM throttle body, 10.8MM sparkplug wires, underdrive pulleys, Hooker long tube headers, full 3" true dual exhaust with mufflers and a 373 Gear...etc. The engine bay also has an Edelbrock engine strut brace. The computer was professionally tuned to match these performance parts....... the car has 70,000 miles on it....
i'm having some problems with the car right now though.... it's missing real bad but only when i excelerate normally without really getting on er.. the problem is only intermitten... however it's getting worse... also the idle is way to high and needs to be adjusted... this is my first f-body ls1, and i'm pretty much in the dark with it as far as the problems go if anyone could help that would be great thanks....

First off...welcome to the board and congrats on the car.
I'm northeast of you in Lancaster. Do you know who tuned it?
Check for a vacuum leak. It will cause both problems you're having and probably what's going on. Pay close attention to the pcv hose where it goes into the intake on the passenger side. Those like to crack on the backside of that bend.
You can also check your plug wires to make sure they're on the plugs and coil packs all the way. Kinda common for people to think those are on when they actually aren't clicked onto one end or the other. Another thing is check the wires to make sure one isn't laying on a header or close enough that the heat has dried it out causing it to crack.
If it's not running right I would stay out of the throttle on it until you get your issues figured out.

thanks so much man... the car idled fast when i bought it last friday... but ran super strong and smooth... it just started missing when i left it over the first of the week at a guys shop for him to fix the leaking rear end and replace the pinion bearing.... but before that it ran like new the car has no cats on it... it has hooker long tube headers and loudmouth exhaust the o2 sensors are in the headers... i thought that might be a problem...

no, that's where they go. Really sounds like you're describing a vacuum leak. I would also wonder if it's been tuned for that MAF. For now assume it has and check that pcv hose.

G'day and welcome.
It's not how fast you can go. It's how fast you can get there.
