LS1 newbie first post..
Hello,
Thanks for having a great forum for LS1 enthusiasts. I hope to gain some knowledge both from everyones great experience, as well as my tinkering.
I wanted to ask a question regarding forced induction limitations on the LS1. I have several options to go with my 2004 GTO, but have heard that there are limitations to max power that can be achieved with stock internals versus the LS2. I need some clarification on this issue, as well as "why".
Thanks for reading...

I have been thinking of a D1 blower myself. Now just what I have heard but you don't want to push more than 500 RWHP on a stock motor. Sound about right guys ?

I know of several guys out there who have very modest tuning for their LS1 goats and with either Vortech or ATI, or even the Maggie and they are running low boost but still putting out approximately 450 bhp to 498 bhp to the floor on stock internals. I think there is definitely a best bang for the buck forumula. Bolt-ons are great, especially when you start getting involved with top end mods but then you have a potentially rough idling drag car, which may or may not suit your needs. For me, good daily driving habits, and the occasional light to light sprints are good enough.
