LS1 to FJ60 Landcruiser
Hey now ~
I have inherited my old friends '83 FJ60 Land Cruiser and looking for a sensible power plant conversion. I have looked at the Cummins 4BT ~ @25 mpg it's very attractive, it will also run on biodiesel or straight veggie if started w/diesel primer.
downside: it only puts out 170 hp with a few mods.
major downside: it weighs 750 lbs! with will severely affect the handling.
The 5.3L LS1 was my second choice, but gaining respect in that in weighs only 415 lbs and produces 350 hp stock. My main question is: How well, if at all will this motor run on E85 (ethanol).
I have just joined this group, and barley know how to navigate, so please forgive if this is a super redundant question ...now to snoop around.
