black- 1999 camaro z28
im a new member with my first question
hi i have a 99 camaro z28, i just flipped 40k on it.when i start my car (more so when it is cold) i get a ticking noise coming from the engine, i always let the car warm up for about 3 to 5 minutes and the noise goes away. i have not experienced any performance problems. if anyone has experienced this problem could you please fill me in on how to correct it. although i dont have any performance issues and the noise does go away after warm up, it still drives me nuts. i take great care of my car so this is obviously something id like to try and fix. please and thanks for the info

Welcome! Our engines tend to be a little noisy until they warm up. Usually it's nothing to worry about.

My t/a does the same thing, In my opinion it would be the pistons expand when they get warmer, as we all know metal expands and contracts at different temps.
