    I Wasn't Looking for a Mid-Life Crisis

    Hello all,

I am a new WS6 owner as of a few months ago. I'm 54 and was not even in the market for a car. A guy I work with bought this 1998 WS6 new and only put 7,000 miles on it in that time. He said he was thinking about selling it since he hardly ever drove it but that it wasn't worth much based on the book value. I said I'd give him book value for the car if he was willing to sell it and he said OK. So here I am.

First off I have to say what a blast this car is. The power is great and easy to handle. I still pinch myself that I stumbled onto such a great opportunity.

Some days I wonder what I've done buying a car from a company that GM is closing. Then I see the volume of interest in these cars on forums like this and realize I will be able to support whatever this car needs for many years to come.

Here's a pic of it. There are more you can navigate through if interested.

Nice lookin' car, Mike! Pictures 2 and 3 told me what I wanted to know, manual transmission. That means 3.42 rear gears, and 25+ MPG highway. Looks very clean, no tears on the drivers seat (yet). And you will love this website. Much info here, use the search option for lots of previously answered questions.

Oh, by the way, did I mention it's a 6 speed? That was a must. I may very well have passed on this deal if it had been an automatic. Being a M6 car was just natural for me. I've only had one daily driver that was an automatic in my 30 years of driving.

I can almost justify driving this car in this day and age because of the decent gas mileage I get. With mostly city/surface street driving I'm getting 16-17 mpg. 25 mpg on the highway is just icing on the cake.
