    Hello..

Hello from the NW side of Indianapolis, IN. Not much to say about me. I'm building a 61 Biscayne two door post and sticking a LS1 in it. I'm not set on what transmission I want to use. 4L60E would be easy to use while driving. But the fun of a stick would also be nice. I'm using a Camaro front clip, tube frame behind the clip with a four linked 9". Been a slow build so far.

I don't know much about the LS series engines. My son tells me the LS engines make hp differently than the old school engines do. This old dog is willing to learn something new.

Welcome to the site Bill. I would go with the stick, nothing like rowing the boat behind a stout LS1. As far as HP is concerned, I feel HP is HP. The LS1 will make more power then the old mouse motor but that is technology for you.
My ride is a 2002 Camaro SS SLP #3296 with 30k, LTH, 3" Y, CME, Frost tune, K&N, ported TB, Blackwing lid, Bellows, MSD, Denso Iridium, and 85mm MAF, Bilsteins, Eibach springs, SLP strut brace, Adj. Panhard, TA Girdle, UMI, Pro 5.0, Nitto NT555
My wife has a 2004 GTO with the rare SAP, 18" wheels, K&N Cold Air System, MSD, Ported TB, Frost tune, Denso Iridium, Flowmaster cat-back, 3200 Yank, 75k

    Welcome to the site!

I was all old school until purchasing our Trans Am a few years ago -- it is incredible the power these engines make in stock dress. Lots of companies are now making the parts needed to swap LS engines into just about everything. If you grab a donor engine from a boneyard, make sure you get the PCM with it. Crate motors are also an option and there are aftermarket controllers that will run everything just fine.

BTW: Your site name is... shall we say creative.

Just realised it myself. Crazy cows!

And Jeff is correct. They also support and respond to modding very well. It doesn't take much to produce large amounts of power. If I remember correctly, Jeff's car, with stock motor, has run a best of 12.4x in the 1/4 mile. Extremely respectable. However, once you start modding, it's hard to stop. Just ask most of us.
