black- 2008 off road truggy
Hello
HI everyone I have a truggy and yea I know it looks like mad max.I have a HP problem like most of you.(never enough)So I got on here to see what i could learn for my next MOTOR.Currently have ls1 with cam and head work bought it from turnkey.I was told it is around 490 at the crank.By the time it goes through a turbo 400 and ford nine inch I get 253 at the wheels. They are 37 inch paddles so I need more ponys.Any ideas would be helpful.I want to be around 500 at the wheels.I was thinking ls2 stroked.
Thanks justin

Welcome to the site! Post some pictures of this thing! I want to see it. Was it dynoed with those tires on it? If so, that's where the extreme HP loss is coming from. Also, going through a slushbox and 9" robs it a notable amount.
Is this truggy a straight line performer? Ive been to many sand drags etc, and what I'm familiar with is short burst power needed.
Nitrous,Stroker will both get you there... or close. Those tires are killing dyno numbers.
In the end, that's just a number.

What sort of heads and cam on the current motor? My auto stock got 285rwhp I know not as much drive train loss but the motor does not sound terribly modded. 500rwhp with an ls-1 is a rare occurrence and would be more easily done with an ls-2 stroked out to a 402. But if you can give the specs on the current cam and heads we can probably see you have a lot more potential in the motor then you think. People with 3600 stalls and a good head cam package are hitting close to mid 440's there is no reason you shouldn't be at least at 400 with head and cam work.
P.S and post pics of the ride photobucket makes it quick to copy pics over.

Thats roughly 50% loss. Seems too extreme.
