Hi everyone, this is my first post. I have a 2000 SS M6 and starting to mod. Starting with LM and LS6 intake. I am going to put headers on and was leaning toward SLP. It sounds like they are too loud any thoughts.

The SLP LM1 with headers is a bit loud. But SLP LM2 is not bad. Some people like it pure loud. I like loud so that is what I run.

Read as much as you can before you start modding. You'll learn a ton from everyones mistakes. The SLP headers will have ground clearance problems. I have coated pacesetters on mine and for the money they're a great header.

Agree with above, SLP headers tend to give the least amount of ground clearance. Pacesetters are available coated at a good price if you can;t afford to go stainless. Use the search key and do some research before modding to avoid costly mistakes.

As far as the LS6 intake, I would go with a lid first and even after that I would hold off on spending the $450 or so for the intake until you can maximize it with a bigger cam. GEt some SFC and use the $450 for the intake towards Pacesetters

Thanks for the info. I looked at pacesetters but I need to run cats in NY. Will another catted Y fit these headers? Also I do have a lid and am looking into a cam package. Any thoughts?

For about the same money as SLP's you can get kooks and end up with a much better header. I'm cheap so I would probably keep my eyes peeled in the for sale section for a used set. Since they're stainless they'll last forever. Just do some reading in the other sections of the board and post some questions up. Your posts will get a lot more traffic and you'll get more and better responses there. Make use of the search function and search out "cam" and just read. You'll learn more than you ever thought possible.
