Corvette ls1 mild build
Hi everybody, I have a 98 corvette c5 auto.
I was just trying to make more power but I want a good setup as well.
My car is very well maintenance.
Right now I did purchase a
lsx Intake manifold
102mm throttle body
Texas speed racing long tubes
Apr head studs
I did buy a cam it is a Comp Cams 54-459-11 LSR Series Camshaft Hyd. Roller Chevy LS
Do you think with setup and a torque converter with a rebuild to the trans. I’d be able to pull off 400whp ? I am getting a tune as well.
Let me know and thanks!

I need a ls2 timing chain? Are they all interchangeable? I bought mines from rockauto
. Replacement High Performance Chain, 62 Links, Single Roller
I did just buy the oil pump by melting that’s on the way now
Wait I forgot to mention I bought these heads
Trickflow LS Vortec CNC Ported Cylinder Heads 205cc Ti Retainers 4.8L 5.3L 5.7L
And the head gasket from summit racing
Do I need the lifters because I have the new heads fully done.
Thanks for your support and sorry for not adding that to my list lol
I’m thinking it’ll make 430-450 now right

Those lifters been there since 98.....so it's smart money to do them now and save time and money later. you have the heads off, now is the time to do them. unlike sbc the heads have to come off to access the lifters.
I don't know the timing chain you got but yes LS2 timing chain are interchangeable. I read somewhere long time ago it's better than the stock ls1.
The oil pump is an absolute must. 97-98 LS1's biggest killer is the stock oil pump from the factory. Ask me how I know and why I have a 403ci in mine....lol
Head gaskets for the love of all holy tell me you got MLS gaskets and not the graphite. For some unholy reason graphite is an option for 98's Or they used to be.

Ok got it just purchased a
Ls2 timing chain
Ls7 lifters
I still have to figure out the exact length for the push rods
Yes I got the trickflow cometic MLS head gasket for the heads
Trick flow recommended these.
I know after all this I am going to have too rebuild the transmission and add a converter as well. But it seems like people are saying at over charging for rebuilds on transmissions down here. I was thinking just bolting up this transmission that is already pre built, with a warranty .
4L60E High Performance Race Transmission, 2pc Case 2WD
What do you think?
I just want reliable NA build

you can get a pushrod checker from Summit. compcams is about $20. There is a how to thread on how to measure in the General Help section.
Also preload the lifters in oil overnight.
