What to get in a basic tune.

I have a 99 Trans Am m6 and would like to get a tune. The car is stock except for a suncoast airbox and catbacks. I think I want the rear 02's deleted, the skip shift eliminated and the secondary air system deleted. Is there anything else I should throw in there? Thanks in advance for any response.

Think you covered it all for an M6 car.

You may want to look at the timing and map the call from the MAF. These cars like 28 deg inital timing.

Advance the timing and add some fuel. Personally, I would delete the MAF and run a Speed Density Tune.

I would delete the egr too while you're at it & lean the car out. You doing the tune or a frost mail order? Frost knows all that and will hook you up with everything you need.

Was kinda thinking of having Frost do it. It really doesn't sound like a bad price and saves me from messing something up.

Frost mail order for yours will be great! 5 days you will have it back in the car! For almost stock Steve will get it 99%!!! Cant beat the price and it will cover everything you want for sure!

Good deal Now another question. In say a year or so I do heads, cam and full exaust. Will a mail order tune take care of that or does it absolutely have to be dyno tuned?

You can do mail order for that...you would send the PCM back to frost with a list of mods and they can retune it for you, that being said at that point a "GOOD" dyno tune would be the way to go for the best results!!!

Gotcha. thanks for the reply. I was under the impression a mail order tune was good but if you want to squeeze out all the power you can get it dyno tuned.

    This is true.

When I did my motor swap, I sent the computer out to Frost for a mail order tune. This allowed me to start the car, drive around, and break in the motor before taking it down to him to throw it on the dyno for a real tune.

I believe he cuts you a deal on the dyno tune after doing this right?

Yes...you get the mail order tune for free if you come see him for a dyno afterwards.
