what exactly does a performance chip do?

i see these on ebay for +100hp and 20 mpg which i know is total bull but ive heard of people getting there fuel/air ratio changed and they got from 305hp to 345. any idea or what?sorry for the noob question im a learner still haha

dont do it use a credited/known tuner besides there is no such thing as a "chip" for our cars the PCM gas to be programed

Diesels gain 100hp from then. But alot of times they advertise those gains on the gas versions too which is complete bull.

I read on here a while ago someone bought a Hypertech tuner and ran his car on the dyno without it then put it on set for "max performance" and gained 2 hp at the wheels. Seems like a waste of 350 bucks to me.

You are literally 20 minutes away from me. I will be out of town next week (honey moon) but will be available SOMEWHAT by email. I can do a basic tune (mail order equivalent) or anything up to full tuning on the street and dyno. Check out my sig for a link to my site.
