Efilive for me, 30 programmed computers a day. Couldnt do it with any other software. Lots of cool goodies being released weekly, and Updates faster than a guy can download. I love it..

EFILive/FlashScan is excellent . . . easy to use, great documentation, constantly updated and improved.

    All my best,

But isn't EFI like EDIT? You can only tune two cars?

Whereas Tuners allows you to tune 2 vehicle types?

both have their pros & cons...efi live has a better scanner then hpt 1.7...hpt's 2.0 scanner is just about equal to efi lives current scanner. Hptuners gives you two year licenses whereas efi live is vin locked & only allowss so many vins per unit whereas you can fit unlimited year licenses on hpt's unit. EFI live has the black box scanner hpt does not offer this nor do I see tthem having plans tto add this. EFI live offers free custom OS's with the slightly more expeensive pro version, hpt offers 1 & 2 bar for each OS not a generic one at a cost of $49 & $299 respectively. HPtuners offers tuning for many different models including many gm v6's whereas efi livee is limited to ls1 based motors. HPtuners costs less initially, efi lives vin licenses are $99 each, hpt year licenses are $199 up to 4 total licenses on a unit meaning you could tune 99-02 ls1 fbodies for less then $900 total outlay whereas efilive would be $900 for just 2 vins with the commercial version.

i still think theres a chance you'll end up sellingg your efi live scanner once you get your hands on 2.0...I really dont think you'll find efi live's scanner much more feature rich like it was.

    I use HPTuners...
The initial decision was because I wanted to make money back on my investment..and I just didnt see that happening with having to charge customers a $99 minimum just to do simple edits to their cars...
with HP I have done numerous DTC and non driving edits on lots of cars and made my money back just from "nickel and diming it"
and I have now tuned a large amount of 2000 and 2001 Camaros/birds...again,,,making money without spending extra...
I love the EFI scanner..but now that HPT 2.0 is in Beta(which I am a tester) I think 2.0 is every bit as easy..if not maybe a little bit easier to set up and use...(I have a buddy with EFI and thats how I have been able to compare the two)
but I'm still going to probably end up buying an efi live just for reasons of custom os's that HP isnt going to offer and doesnt look like they have plans to...
so I will be doing a little hybrid sort of kind of....

I've been able to do basically the same thing. As far as buying efi live is concerned I dont see that happening unless the completely overhauled their pricing structure...and even then I've already got every fbody license on hptuners so it would be like putting good money towards bad since I've already got what I need. I wish there was a best of both worlds when it comes to the custom os's but apparently there wont be.

I thought tsp used hptuners? I know they have the software for v6's via hptuners...just assuming they also have the v8 stuff from them.

HPTuners alone...although I wish the scanner's graphics were better. But I'm not ready to buy any additioanal software for scanning.

Edit: And I can tune my wife's '00 V6 with no additional cost.

    Hey Guys,
My 01 C5 was done using LS1-Edit and I need to buy a package today so I can reprogram my new ECM. Yeah, the warranty isn't the only thing that goes at 36K miles. 8(

I enjoyed reading your comments but only found one very small one regarding LS1-Edit. Do you guys have any 'Technical' feedback regarding this product when compared to the others?
    Thanks!

I has been known to fry computers, an inferior scanner as compared to hpt & efilive, much longer read & write times, pay updates as compared to free updates offered by hpt & efi live, no 2 bar support whatsoever, no forum of their own only email support, vin locked, no inputs or outputs on their boxes....im sure theres other stuff.
