    Tune in MN?

After buying a house, and my wife telling me we are going to be having our third child, spending money for the car is a bit tight right now. Anyone in the Twin Cities area have HP Tuners or another system that is willing to tune my stock T/A for a little $$ or maybe a lot of

I'm in Brooklyn Park, very close to me, but I will call my friend Matt and see what he is up to and when he could potentially do it. Not sure what he will charge though. If you want, Todd @ Track Time Motorsports would maybe do something for you, his number is 651-203-8009

I'll call him, but I think a shop would cost more than I can comfortably spend right now. (I'm not short on money, just have a wife that is one of those "it's just a car" wives that gets upset when I spend money on it.

    Smile tune in MN

I don't check into this site very often but your question caught my eye. I have a 1950 Chev Belair 2 dr hardtop wit a LS1/4l60e in it. If you go to back to the 50's or the Car Craft nationals you might have seen it. I had a 406 small block/ 700r4 up until last November when I changed. I have learn alot with the switch but have a lot to learn about tuning the LS1. I had Street & Proformance reprogram the computer for me by taking out the emissions stuff and "tweek'd" it for a gain of 17 h.p. At least thats what they told me! I have a friend that has a GM Hot Cam new in the box and have been thinking about it. I would like to getr it on a dyno and have it tuned either way. I picked up 98FORMY phone number of Todd @ Track Time and might give hime a call. What is your thoughts on the GM Hot Cam? I do mostly cruising but like/ can't resist getting on it once in a while!

The hot cams are ok, but if you are going to do the work, go a little bigger with better gains. Check out thunder racing's cam kits, I got a TR224/224 for my daily driver, haven't put it in yet, but you also have to change the valve springs with any cam swap.

Thanks for the tip on Thunder Racing Cam TR224/224, I will check it out. A friend of mine bought the complete cam kit with springs and said he would sell it to me for around half price (still in the box). The artilces I have read say a gain of 49 H.P. That's not bad.

Question: I was watching youTube - LS1 racing and I noticed that a lot of guys were not power shifting like in the old days (Hate to admit 40 Years ago - with a 1959 Corvette that turned in the low 12's. It was fast for it's day.) I noticed it mostly in stock LS1 Corvettes and Camaros.
