    Temp Gauge Sensor??

The gage that shows temp on the console is not working, it never moves at all. I checked the fuses and it's not that because all the others are working. I checked the codes and it's saying "Temp. Gage Data Out of Range"

Will replacing the temp sensor in the car fix this? I can buy one for like $20 but I want to make sure that this is the problem before I do that.

Gauge gets the temp reading from the ECT sensor via the PCM, so replacing it should make it work again - I'd check the sensor connector and wiring first before purchasing one.

I replaced the sensor on the driver side, and it didn't change anything! The guage is still saying that the car is at like 110 degrees.

oh ok thanks.. yeah it was reading a p0410, p0412, and p0418. I read some where that those codes for GM translate into : "Temp Gage Data Out Of Range" .. which makes sense because my temp gage is not working.

Do they translate like that or no?
