Security light?

the security light came on on my car last night but it runs and acts just like normal

only thing i can think of is maybe the resistor in the key is failing maybe? anyone else experience this issue?

When my light came on my vats system kicked in and killed the cars ignition and fuel pump. Had to replace the lock cylinder to fix the problem. I'd look into a little before you get stranded like I did, if vats kicks it you cant even pop start it.

there are different stages of vats errors....it's not always a pass/no pass situation. You can try cleaning the pellet on your key but it's most likely the wires inside your lock cylinder. You can bypass it for about $5-$10 and 30 minutes or so of your time.

Search for "vats" and a thread by sandman should come up and that gives you all the steps on how to do it. I would search it for you but its a bit complicated to do off my phone.
