red- 1998 Z28
scanned car ecu and got DTC P1336 Crankshaft Position
DTC P1336 Crankshaft Position (CKP) System Variation Not Learned
that is the error code that I received when autozone scanned my 1998 z28.
I looked in manual, cant find anything about it, but autozone printed out a pic of the sensor, and the price is 50.00. To get to it, you have to remove header, then starter, then sensor. PITA huh.
Car runs great, wouldnt there be some semptoms, and will it improve performance to replace?

There's a relearn procedure I'd try first but you need the software to do it. Guess you could also try resetting the PCM manually and see what happens, won't hurt anything now. Look up P1336 for your year at www.gearchatter.com for the diagnostics/procedure.

You need to preform a re-learn; unhooking power from the PCM will not trigger the re-learn either. It's a simple thing to do with tuning packages such as HPTuners and EFILive. GM can do it for you but would likely charge 50-100 bucks. This happens when PCMs are moved between cars typically.
