    Question about tuning.

i have a ws6 with 80 mm tb, slp air lid, slp maf sensor, hedman headers, cherry bomb exhaust.

the quesion is would you go to a guy that has a tuning program that charges 150 to tune on his computer who is decent.

or go to a professional motorshop and get the car dyno tuned for 500.

With your mods a tune from somebody like Frost would be fine. If you had internal mods such as heads, cam or a stall I'd look more in the direction of an actual dyno tune. Save some money and go with Frost, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Frost is a site sponser who does mail order tunes. Click on his banner in the Sponser area to go to his website. I've yet to hear anything negative about his tunes. Many members here run his tunes. He knows his stuff, and you won't be dissapointed.

With your mods if you find a guy that's reputable and has tuned some cars I would pick the $150. I would require him to use a wideband though or better yet go to ebay and buy one yourself with the money you'd save versus a dyno tune. Good tool to have in the car. No reason a street tune wouldn't work just fine with your mods. The tune will only be as good as the tuner though.

I was unaware of Frost no longer being a sponser. That's a shame. Hopefully he comes back. His services and knowledge are quite valuable.

honestly....with your mods there won't be a lot required so cruising should be really no different. WOT is where the difference will be and throttle response. Knowing your AFR and how much timing he gave you would be a bonus.

I am still, and will continue to be. If my account has lost it's sponsor status, it's an administrative error! I am up for renewal this month and in talks related to it right now.

    Thanks.

I'm sorry I have been away from the boards guys; I'm not tired of it or anything I just have had more work than I could do.

Thanks for all of the nice words.

What can I expect to pick up ET wise with a frost tune. Hypertech slowed me down over .10sec!

Depends on your mods, and how good of a driver you are.

Ive asked others about the use of a wideband in the vehicle itself...still unclear of what this will do and how it will help....? So it can show you what your afr is right? Then how does one know exactly how much a/f to add or subtract? Thanks..
