pewter- 2000 trans am
problem code
p1415 air system bank 1,secondary air injection system bank 1.What exactly is this and how do you fix it.My car is a 2000 Trans-Am.Thanks for any help.

Common problem, usually the AIR tube gets plugged. Remove it, it is the anti-backfire valve that is attached to the AIR pipe on one side, and the rubber hose on the other. Bank one is the side with the number one cylinder. To test it, try to blow thru it with your mouth. Clean it first, of course! You are not making love to it, or trying to pleasure it. You should be able to easily blow thru it from the rubber hose side and not be able to from the pipe connection side. May as well replace both of them, one on each side connecting to the exhaust manifold.

Yea, replace the drivers side air check valve - GM PN is 12565503 but available at your local parts store - if you decide to replace both it's the same part number for either side.
