Usually its the check valve or some sort of restriction in the pipe on that side

Here is a write up on the secondary air system: http://www.ls1.com/forums/f6/seconda...emoval-130641/

Thanks, I will check it out and let you know. I did just install the Volant CAI. Think that might have something to do with the error codes I am getting?

It shouldn't, unless you plugged off the secondary air feed in the process. There is a hose that goes from the stock resonator to the air pump that feeds filtered air to the system.

I reconnected the secondary air hose. I had an SLP lid first, then the Volant. I reconnected both times. Side note, I had my car in a couple shows this summer and a lot of people were checking it out. I mean a lot. I was surprised.

A NBM WS6 is a sexy beast. Not surprised that it gets a lot of attention.

Pull the hose off from the check valve on the passenger side manifold and see if you have exhaust blowing out the valve when you start the car.

Well thanks! I love the color too. I didn't buy my WS6 until I found a clean one in NBM for a good price. What does it mean if I find there is fumes coming out of the valve? After reading the recommended thread above about the secondary air system. I think I might remove the system all together. Are ther any down sides? It is not my dd and we dont have emission checks in Michigan.

no downside unless you hug trees REALLY hard . It'll just pollute a little more but won't affect how the car runs. Nobody likes pollution but this is minor in the grand scheme of things.

It's not a dd. I don't think it will contribute that much. Will it make the exhaust smell more? Probably not since it only runs for a couple minutes, huh?

No effect on how the car runs. You will need a tune though to turn off the SES light that will be set by removing the system.

So would it be less expensive to get the tune for the delete done at the same time as getting it tuned after I put on headers. I am going to do that relatively soon and I have a diablo handheld that I can use to reset the ses when I need to. I don't need to get a tune after putting on tg Volant CAI, do I?

Anything that affects air coming into or gases exiting your engine has an impact on your volumetric efficiency. To some extent, the feedback from the O2's and MAF will counteract the fact that your fueling tables utilized by the PCM are no longer an accurate representation of what is going on. Best answer though is to get a tune after the headers are installed -- a mail order from Frost is highly recommended.
