    PO440 code

I recently bought another TA after my last one was called a total and now after about a week i get a SES light. I got it read at Advanced Auto and it was the evap system malfunction. Can anyone tell me what this could be or what is the technically the evap system. I was thinking A/C but my dad thinks it could be the fuel system. Thanks

It has nothing to do with the AC. First thing to check is the gas cap for being correct, good seal, on tight, etc. My girlfriends car kept throwing it and even though the o ring seal didn't look too bad a new cap took care of it. If replacing the cap doesn't take care of it you'll have to look at the rest of the EVAP system.

If you got gas within probably a day of the code coming up, take the gas cap off and put it back on. Make sure it clicks a couple times. Clear the code and you're good.

I have the same code, and my evap canister is cracked...I have a new one on the way, but how the hell do you get it off of the hose that connects it to the intake? There's a little white clip that Is a real PIA to get off!

The clip is not supposed to come off. Push on the clip in and pull the line at the same time.
