PCM chip vs. Dyno tune
I just finished changing the ring gear (3.23 to 3.73 on a 93 Formula Auto) and now am in need of a speedometer recalibration. I have two choices with this and only have experience with one...
Option 1: get a pre-programmed chip from Fast Chip (Ed Wright) who claims his tune is the fastest there is. I have had two previous cars with his tuning programs and have been happy with both of them. Price: ~$160
Option 2: go to my local shop (Livernois Motorsports) and they will do a full dyno tune on the car for ~$400.
Is the difference between $160 and $400 worth it for the dyno tune.
I only have intake/exhaust and gear. No other mods planned either. Just sitting here thinking about it - I would personally say no, but I've no experience with dyno tunes....
Appreciate the thoughts!

if your just going that far for modding get a hand held or something like it...or your chip like you want ...a dyno tune would be a big waste of money for ya they could squeeze a lil more out of the engine with it but imo wait intill you do more mods like h/c package then you will need it but till then the chip would work for you.....

Yea, I agree. Actually, in my case, the chip is even a bit more convienent. My local shop called me back today to confirm that they could do the work, but they are booked till next week. I can order my chip and have it installed before then.
Thanks for the input!
