OBD Code P1416

I have a 2000 TA and my service engine light came on. I checked it and it was P1416 Auxilary Emissions Control. Anybody have any idea whats going on with that code?

i had the same code come up on my 2002 ss. it was the the air pump check valve on the pass side. it comes off the exhaust manifold and its small and screms on the end and has a hose conected on the other end and it took care of my ses light

Did you replace the check valve? If so how much$

Clean it out with brake cleaner, then hose it out w/ WD40, don't buy a new one unless the valve is frozen. That solved my problem. Also, are you running octane booster or mixing in any race feul?

ya i replaced it and the code went away. i got it from my local GM dealer it cost me like $40. havent had a problem since

Ouch. They are like $10 from the auto parts store...

ya if your parts store knows what your talking about and careiess or at least can get it. All mine didnt even know what i was talking about and didnt know how to orded the right one
