    no hypertech for 1998 LS1?

    so there i am on the hypertech site lookin up the power programmer. and the listing says 1999-2002. is the ECM on the 98' different or will it work? i want to see what kinda ETs i can get on a bone stock car on street tires. with no add ons.

    the 97-98 pcm is completely different than the 99-04 pcm.

    they make a hpp3 for the 98. a friend of mine had one in his 98 z28. using the performance tune cause major spark knock to the point where you could here it. and his car was stock at the time.

    i was just hoping to tune the A4 a lil better. im wondering if i can do it through a snap on analyzer i have at my shop. i wanted to tune for RFG as well.

    true, get full exhaust and gears, the do a LS1Edit or HP Tuners at a pro shop.
    then do engine stuff like cam + heads and do another pro tune.

    depending on how long he woul wait between exhaust/gears he probably shouldn't do the tune until after he gets the cam and heads. waste of money. 350$ for a tune then 150 for a retune? talking 500 for tuning right there. I'd rather wait until I got the heads and cam before doing the tune.

    true, if you wait like 6 months it's worth it, but if you do heads/cam 2 months later, it ain't worth it to pay 350+150.
