Need help with cooling on my HpTuner
I have a HpTuner and I going to hook it up to my friends new Camaro . I know the car came with SLP 160 t-stat and also came with old hand held tuner. My friend and I was look at temp gauge after driving around town and seemed little high so was wondering if some one could give me some fan temp number that would work great with his 160 t-stat.
Here example of what talking about no that not what car set at now .
thanks,
Blake

Do you mean the stock gauge was reading high? The 99 and up gauge just reads a range and shows just under 210, unless it's starting to overheat. Here's what I've had mine set at for years with a 160:
1 on 184, off 175
2 on 194, off 185

you only have a 2 degree difference in your on/off temps. Set them to where the post above me recommended. The 160 stat also won't make you run 160....it doesn't even fully open at 160. I have a tranny cooler mounted in front of my radiator so I'd be a little different but mine typically runs in the 180ish range with a 160 stat and fans set to 184.

Actually they're pretty low compared to the stock settings. 226/217, 235/226. My fans run a lot. If you set his fans at 160 they're pretty much going to run continuously when the weather starts warming up.
