The best thing to do is stick with the stock MAF -- it's good up to about 500 hp. Do not port it, do not de-blade it, do not remove the screen. Messing with the MAF or changing it out without proper tuning to recalibrate the associated tables in the PCM can adversely affect your air/fuel ratio.

So I should get a programmer? I really don't want to take it off..

A handheld programmer will not make the necessary adjustments. You would need something like HP Tuners to do that. Your best bet is a mail order tune through Frost (site sponsor). Hit the link to his site under the "Sponsors" button and you can download instructions for removing your PCM (takes all of 5 minutes) and there is also a vehicle data sheet that you fill out upon which you would list your MAF.

Yeah, I'm not much on mail order tuning aftermarket MAF's; it's a crapshoot. I wouldn't call swapping MAF's an upgrade either. You aren't going to get any power out of it (don't care what the ads say, I know what they dyno and track says ) but you WILL have to have your car tuned in-person by someone with a wideband.
I wish Summit and Jegs and the mainstream guys would just stop selling MAFs and I definitely wish they would stop with the HP claims.
