    sold: 1999 firebird
    1998 Trans Am

    ls1 ecm swap

    i have a '98 auto, i know the ecms are different and not as tune-able as 99+ models, also plan on maybe eliminating egr and such. can i just get a newer model ecm, maybe get it tuned and swap it? thanks ya'll, sorry if this is a repost..didnt see another one like it

    The wiring harness has a different pin-out too. So, you will need that too.

    the wiring harness to just the motor or to all the electronics too? would it be better to just buy another t/a to mod?

    Not sure what you mean by not as tune-able as 99+? Just get a tune.

    I have a 98.....heads/cam and stalled. None of the emissions hooked up running speed density. No reason you shouldn't be able to get your 98 tuned.

    99 and up do have a wider range of tuning, but I'm happy with my 98 & HP Tuners !!!
