Sunset Orange Metallic-M6- 2002 Pontiac Trans Am WS6
Jet performance chip
ok, so ive searched this forum for threads on this, and even made my own in the computer tuning section with not much luck. Im not new to LS1's but I just bought a stock 2002 WS6 M6 with nothing on it except this little Jet performance computer chip. my question is, is it bad for my car and will it cause me any problems? If it actually does me good, ill keep it on. But if it has a chance of ausing me issues ill rip that sucker off.
thanks guys

I had one on my 2000 with nothing else, purely stock at the time. Seemed to add a little pep to it, a little better throttle response too. But as I added other things, it started to confuse the car and I pulled it.

thanks. ok, i had a feeling it would do something like that. What kind of stuff did you add before it got screwy? I plan on keeping the car stock and then add a magnacharger in about a year or so.

Well, I noticed issues went I got a dyno tune after headers/exhaust and intake. The tuner said he was having some trouble playing with the fuel ratios and couldn't get a tune the way he wanted. But after he pulled the chip, things were good.
I've heard that GMAF's interfere too, but you're better off with the stock MAF. I'd say you're good until you get a tune, and then it isn't needed anymore.

There is NOT a chip that works on the LS1 computer. Plain and simple. Matter of fact....there is not a chip for our computers that does anything other than pretend to trick the timing. And that is a waste.

I wasnt born yesterday, i know its not an actual "chip". Its a module. And i also know a real tune is better. Thats why i wouldnt buy one of these things. However, since i got it for free with my car, i wanted to make sure it was safe to use.
