    HP Tuners HELP

Hey guys I'm new. I need Help!!!

I'm wanting to buy HP Tuners, I have two 5.3 vortec engines, 4l80e transmissions wiring harness computers. What I'm wanting to do is remove the Vats, check codes, cam upgrades, tell it what transmission, and whatever simple stuff I can learn. Keep in mind I want to do this myself to learn and to be able to do my own stuff. Usually this leads to me helping others as well. So, do I need the Pro or Standard? And what else do I need to buy to make everything work. Thanks for any advice.

The 5.3's and transmissions are 2000-2003

Standard until you are familiar with the system
I believe that the pro gives one the ability to work with wide band O2 sensors also

Is it the same price to upgrade to pro later? And do I need the VCM editor and VCM scanner? Thanks

easier to buy the pro now. it takes awhile for them to modify the module to accept external inputs.

the editor and scanner is the program that comes with the purchase. the editor is what you use to modify the pcm. the scanner is what you use to see what's going on with the engine through the sensor outputs.

I have pro and while I can't comment on the specific differences between the two I do know you can go much further with the tuning capabilities than standard. I'd say if all you wanted was to do a little tweaking and scanning then standard would be fine but more than that it makes more sense to go pro. If you want to be able to tune I'd definitely invest in pro and not standard. Fyi they so sell a bench mount so you can tune with the pcm out of the car too. I have it and it works nicely, it is around $150.
