    HP Tuner Pro worth it...

I know there is some good info on here about hp tuners.
The problem is i have one of the best lsx tuners 1 1/2 hours from me that could easily tune my car for me and would be using hp tuners.
But i would like to tinker with it myself. I do have back ground of tuning like this, used to use sct for my srt-4.
The data logging and such would be killer.
And i was thinking the pro would be nice to have a wideband reading right there.
Is all this worth 800 bucks.. I can make a couple hundred back by selling some credits to a couple buddys..
The people with pro, what do you guys think?

By the way, car just stock with headers ready to install and next summer will be going the normal heads/cam etc.

I say its worth it. I love having it just for the scanner abilties if nothing else. Its a great thing to learn, and yes... you can make some money back.

yes.....it's worth getting the pro. There are 2 major bonus' to having the pro. You can log your wideband right along side everything else and then use the histograms. You can log a wideband via another 0-5v reference with the standard but it's a pain in the ass and then you have to reconfigure all the histograms. The other is the stand alone data logging. Very nice to be able to log without the laptop in the car.

I use HPTuners for tuning and EFILive for my scanner.

    Both are worth the money.

I run a WB when I log, and it make its easy to tune.

Right now Frost is helping me get everything inline. And I just send him the logs and he sends me back a Tuner file.

    Much better than mail-order.

Wow! That is very impressive. Always irritated me when tuners lock their tunes.

I tell ya Ed....if you ever played with hptuners logger it would make your tuning much easier. It does pretty much the same things as efilive's except then you can use their histograms and it's a lot of copy paste/special stuff. Just be a few less steps for you.

When I tune, I log with HPTuners. But just driving around I keep EFILive running. I can watch more with it.

not for $800.00. for the $649.00 that it sells for from hptuners directly it does. i went with pro right off the bat. mainly like it for the ability to log without having the laptop hooked to it. the ability to hook up external devices like widebands and such makes it worth the extra $150 over the basic.

i made a few webpages about using htpuners
