Hp tuner

Just installed the 410's in my 2000 Vert Firehawk and love them. Now I need a tuner to correct my speedo. I also plan on installing an LS6 intake and some long tubes, so the tuner I get will haveto be able to blank out my RGR system since I can't stand looking at an SES light. My question is can I get software to throw on my laptop or do I need a handheld, I prefer the least expensive option. Thanks.

is rgr the recirculating gas code?

and a handheld wont turn off codes it can correct the speedo though. Talk to frost on here, he can turn off the codes and give you a tune for a better price than you can find most places and definitly cheaper than a handheld or HPT

To answer the OPs question, there is open source laptop tuning for ls1 ECUs. I dont know where to get the software from though

I can swear i have seen ls1 f-bodys street tuned with a laptop at a couple f-body meets

Yeah, I know of laptop tuners.... HP Tuners and EFI live, but are you sure you have seen open souce tuners running on laptops? (ie:free)

True, cant be sure it was open source, but why wouldnt there be? Mitsu/subaru/VW/LT1 cars have it for all there performance models

Predator Diablo can turn off EGR and AIR, as well as set the speedo for gear and tire size changes. I have one, but would recommend a dyno tune. A shop near me will do a tune for the same price as a handheld, and it will be much better quality.

The problem is that I am in Southern Texas and there are not any LS1 guys down here. I'm not a serious race fan so if the Predator will correct my speedo and EGR problem, it my be my best bet. I'll check out Frost first. Thanks for the input.

check with some texas people. I find it hard to believe there are no ls1 shops near you.....Texas is packed full of LS1 shops. Perhaps you're just not aware of them. Where at in south texas and I'll check around.
