    Fan setting

I just installed a 180 degree thermostat in my camaro. What would be appropriate fan setting for both the low and high speed fans?

Assume you're changing them yourself, try these and if you feel they're running too much for you raise them a little:

    Fan 1 on/off 194/183
    Fan 2 on/off 204/195

I'll give them a try. Thanks

With a 160/FTRA and here in Florida mine are set at 184/175 and 194/185 - thinking of changing mine to the same thing...they run all the time in the heat...going to see if it really makes any difference. Those settings are from an old post from James at RWTD.

I tried the setting and my fans ran all the time. I did some data logging with the fans off and found my car runs at 194 degrees with the AC on and 90 degrees outside. I figured that was about as hot as the engine would get under normal driving. I added 10 degrees to allow for fluctuations in temp. I then used a 7 degree temp spread life the factory tune and went from there. I tested it out in stop and go traffic and them only got to 204 ish. The fans only came on when jammed up at a long light and the temp dropped quick. The high speed fans never came on. Then once I got on the freeway the temp dropped back to the 194 area again.

What I use is very close!

I usually set them to about :

    fan1 on/off 196/187
    fan2 on/off 206/196

Each car is different and may cruise within a window around this area and I usually adjust accordingly.
